The scholarship application process:

Universities seek for the best students to offer the worthy scholarships. Therefore, the applicants not only need to have excellent academic records, but also a good attitude.

Required documents include: academic record (grade 11 & 12 for undergraduate programs), IELTS/TOEFL certificate, SAT, GMAT, GRE, a personal statement, a recommendation letter from a lecturer, proof of participation in extracurricular activity and a CV. Finally, the chosen students will receive an invitation to the scholarship interview.

IMRT is known for establishing and maintaining good work relationships with its partners around the globe as well as introducing the best scholarships for highly potential candidates. Also, IMRT provides students with a range of services which helps with their study abroad scholarship applications.

Most common scholarship interview questions:

The interview is considered the most difficult part of the process. However, you can do great if you are best prepared for it. The following list contains most commonly asked questions in a scholarship interview:

  • Have you been a leader or displayed leadership?
  • What is your greatest strength and weakness?
  • Who is a role model for you?
  • What is your favourite book?
  • Why did you choose this college?
  • What is your favourite subject at school and why?
  • What is a meaningful academic class, project or other experience?
  • Why do you want to enter this career?
  • With what activities are you most envolved?

Best time to apply for scholarships:

The preparation will take about 6 months to a year. This is because it is a time-consuming process for the university to review the applications and actually respond to each individual one of them. Also, it takes quite a while for the student to structure and write a good personal statement, as well as for them to get a letter of recommendation ready for university.

Scholarship applications are accepted annually from December to April. For winter admission, scholarships can be found up until late in the fall (November). However, you will have around 4 months (from September to January) to apply for big scholarships, as these normally take more than a year to review applications.

The information mentioned above is the scholarship basics and tips to help students become more aware of the application process and hence, be more prepared.
